چکیده
Abstract Background Surgical site infection (SSI) is the most typical problem for patients who undergo operative procedures. It remains a and widespread causing morbidity mortality, partly related to rise in infections due antimicrobial-resistant bacterial pathogens. The study was purposed evaluate isolates their drug susceptibility patterns with postoperative surgical infection. Results rate of studied at Asella Referral Teaching Hospital found be 23.3%. One hundred fifty specimens pus surface swabs were collected from site-infected over period March 2016 May 2017, that, total 147 pathogens recovered. predominant organisms associated Klebsiella species 38 (26%, n =147), Escherichia coli 31 (21%, Staphylococcus aureus 25 (17%, Pseudomonas aeruginosa 18 (12%, =147). Conclusion Higher number species, , . majority gram-negative which isolated resistant commonly prescribed antimicrobial agents setting. Thus, achieve effective therapy wound reduce/stop appearance multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens, continuous monitoring essential fair use agents.

Susceptibility Pattern of Isolates from Surgical Ward Patients of A Tertiary Care Referral Hospital, Rawalpindi, Pakistan
Introduction Introduction: Surgical site infections are prevalent in hospitals all across the country. Lack of antibiotic stewardship and injudicious use has led to emergence of multidrug resistant organisms which makes treatment of hospital acquired infections a daunting challenge for the physicians. The trend of isolates and their sensitivity pattern remains in a constant state of flux theref...

BACKGROUND Abdominal surgical site infections (SSI) cause substantial morbidity and mortality for patients undergoing operative procedures. We determined the incidence of and risk factors for SSI after abdominal surgery in the Department of Abdominal Surgery at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (UCCK). METHODOLOGY Prospective surveillance of patients undergoing abdominal surgery was pe...

INTRODUCTION Surgical site infections (SSIs) often manifest after patients are discharged and are missed by hospital-based surveillance. METHODS We conducted a case-reference study nested in a prospective cohort of patients from six surgical specialties in a teaching hospital. The factors related to SSI were compared for cases identified during the hospital stay and after discharge. RESULTS...
